Target Haul + e.l.f Makeup Review!

Hey guys! I know It’s been a while but my laptop just recently broke and I’ve been at a loss for inspiration. I hope to blog a BUNCH this summer now that I don’t have to focus on school so much! Anyway, recently I went to Target and picked up a few products as well a new purse!  So let’s get started!

Let’s start with the makeup! All the products except for an eye shadow brush were products from e.l.f  I’d never tried. (Btw I do recommend brushes from e.l.f + they’re so darn cheap!)

I got the e.l.f Eye Refresh , e.lf. Pressed Powder (in Ivory), and the e.l.f Essential All-Over Color Stick (in Persimmon).

e.l.f Eye Refresh

I really enjoyed this product! The roller is very cool and refreshing!  It’s very clear. I got mine for about $4.00 . This product hasn’t really helped with my dark circles, but does help with my burning eyes when I’m having bad allergies. There’s not much more I can say. I give this product an A+.

e.l.f Pressed Powder

I kind of like this product. I love my Maybelline  Fit Me!  Powder but I was looking for a cheap alternative since my summer budget is tight and I had just experienced horrifying trauma. Hitting pan! So e.l.f was the answer. I tried this out in Ivory and it worked ok. The application pad is rough and does not release much product. The color is a little yellow-ish and the formula is just a little more cakey-esk than my Maybelline Fit Me!. It also lacks a holding space for the applicator Either way I can make it work, although I’ll probably reuse my Maybelline applicator once it’s all gone :(. I give this a B+.

e.l.f All Over Stick

This product is good. It’s definitely un-essential though and definitely not a makeup bag pick. I’m not exactly sure the point of this product. I found it too dark for my snow-white skin. I just used it as a cream blush.  Even as a blush it only stays on the skin for a few minutes before blending in like it was never there in the first place. If you use it as a blush, I would recommend adding a powder formula on top. There’s not much to say about it. It’s just a marketing gimmick to convince people into buying some crap product that nobody actually needs but everyone wants because it’s a so-called “miracle product”. I won’t toss it, but I won’t ever love it either. It’s just another bleh product. Unless you want your face to look so oily and unflattering that people think your flammable, DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

Next I want to show you my new purse!  I found this in the regular purse section at Target. I was having trouble finding an inexpensive bag. Then I came across this Liv & Maddie D-signed Crossbody Bag. Apparently this bag was from the clearance kid’s section and was misplaced in the women’s section. I thought it was cute though and it was only $15.00! So who cares?

So there it is! I don’t mean to brag about my purchases. And I’m very thankful for stuff I have. So please no hate 🙂 ❤

Monday: Review – Quick or Late Present Ideas Under and Over $20.00

Even though Christmas is in about 2 days I have some awesome ideas for last-minute or just plain out late Christmas present ideas. During the holiday season things can get absolutely CRAZY. I’ve swept together some different product suggestions for boys and girls of all ages :)!

Category 1 : The Book Worm & or Writer

Gift 1 (under)  –  Building Fiction by Jesse Lee Kercheval  $17.55 at Barnes & Noble   I’m currently reading this book and I really enjoy it! Believe it or not but I’m not even that big of a bookworm. Lately though I have gotten into writing and this book was a big inspiration to me as well as very helpful. I would recommend buying a small notebook or Stemo pad to go with this book.

Gift 2 (over)  –   Audible 3,6, or 12 month membership $45.00 – $150.00 at Audible.com  I’ve never personally tried out audible myself but I’ve heard good things about it online. I think it would make a great gift especially for the book-worm who’s always on the go or someone who is too busy to physically read a book.

Category 2:  The fashionista and or  beauty addict.

Gift 1 (under) –  Japanese Cherry Blossom Trio Body Set $12.00 at Bath and Body Works  I hear this is a nice scent, probably enjoyable to most people. You can buy trio sets in other fragrances too so if you don’t think the person your buying for would like that scent you can always get another scent.

Gift 2 (over)  –   Urban Decay Cosmetics Book of Shadows Vol. IV Redux $32.00 at Ulta   This looks like the ultimate makeup kit. It includes about 16 eye-shadow shades, an eyeliner, Urban Decay’s famous “Primer Potion”, a mascara, a portable amp for your phone to jam out to your favorite music, and Urban Decay’s very own look cards filled with looks worth stealing. I kinda want this myself :)!

Category 3: The Tech Lover

Gift 1 (under) – Sumdex NeoMetro SuperLight Carrying Case (Sleeve) for 10″ $19.54 at Best Buy  This looks perfect for anyone with an Ipad, girl or guy.  I think it only comes in pink or grey but I’m not sure. It has a nifty pouch in the front. This sleeve would be great for traveling.

Gift 2 (over) –  Apple Ipod Shuffle $49.99  at Best Buy  I had an Ipod shuffle of another generation (I lost it). It works really well and plays music easily. I would like to warn though that the shuffle does not work well if at all if it gets in too much contact with water. Someone i know had one as well and one thing led to another and their shuffle got run directly under water and did not work. If a shuffle does get in contact with water, I would try laying it in a bowl of dry and un-cooked rice. Anyway, the shuffle makes a nice gift.

Category 4: Kids in your life.

Gift 1 (under) –   Edu Science Land & Sky 360 Tabletop Refractor Telescope $18.74 at Toys R Us  I’m sure any kid of almost any age would like this. Especially for any kid into astronomy or even just science.

Gift 2  (over) –   Crayola Melt ‘n’  Mold Factory $59.99 at Toys R Us  This looks really cool. I find the concept of making crayons quite intriguing. The only thing is that I wouldn’t get this for anyone under 6 years old because it looks like it’s probably really messy.

Category 5:  Your Dad, Boyfriend, or other man in your life.

Gift 1 (under) –   Men’s NFL Slippers $12.99 at Target  These would make a great gift for any guy who likes football in your life. I’m not sure how many teams are available, but remember to pick the right team!

Gift 2 (over) –   NFL Football Rug $30.99 at Walmart   This would look nice in a bathroom or even as a doormat.
